Were having constant rain and mud. In spring I dont mind wearing
dairy boots, but right now the temps are in the 80's or above and
having those rubber sealed boots covering my feet and legs is making
me sweat like a pig. I dont tolerate hot weather real well anyhow,
and when my feet are hot my holw body is more hot. The whole farm is
as muddy mess so I have to wear these all day long and it's really
getting to me. A few hours a day would not be so bad but this all day
wearing is really bugging me and I will soon have a case of athletes
foot again from the lack of air in these boots. I dont even wear
socks in them to help keep cool. Is there anything else that would
still handle the deep mud but be cooler to wear?
There's a lot to be said for going barefoot in the mud. Feet are
washable. If there are lots of icky sticky things to step on mixed with
the mud, buy a pair of waterproof river sandals. They have good lug
soles and give good traction on slippery surfaces. Cheap, too. Big 5
has them on sale all the time for about $10.
