I just bought a $25 home

Last year I lost my job because of chronic illness. The doctors took
all my savings and I applied for SSI disability, but they said it
could take a year or more to get anywhere. I finally could not pay my
mortgage and car payments so I lost both of them and became homeless.
In March my uncle died and to my suprise he left me his 10 acres he
had bought to build a hunting cabin but he never got to build it. At
that time I was sleeping under a bridge or at the Mission when the
weather was cold. I decided to move to this piece of land, but there
was no house, so I was using a blue tarp over some sticks. Last week
I went to town on my bicycle that I found in the garbage and while I
was there I saw a sign selling portable plastic toilets for $20. I
started thinking how nice it would be to have a toilet and I called
the number from a payphone. The guy invited me over to see them. I
told him about my problems and said I could only pay half now, and
would pay the rest next week with any luck. I was ready to buy one
when he said he had just the thing for me. He showed me a deluxe
model. It's made for handicapped people and is huge, like 5 by 8 feet
or something like that. He said he wanted $40 for that one, but would
sell it to me for $25, and would even deliver it. Yesterday afternoon
he delivered it and it's great. Not only does it have a toilet, but
there's enough room in there for a chair and a small table, my Coleman
stove and my cot. I can easily live in there comfortably. I already
plan to move my blue tarp in front of the door so I have a porch, and
can put my tv out there as soon as I get a battery for it. And I will
be ready for winter too, because there is a chimney that comes out of
the toilet and goes out the roof. I'll just have to cut a hole in it
for a wood burner. The only problem I can see is there are these
small vent things on the top so I suppose I will have to put duck tape
on them in winter. I finally own my own home, or I will as soon as I
pay him the $14 I owe him. This is great.
