Hi Jonquil Jan:
The folks who want you to move into the old farts' housing
must not know you very well. You'd either end up running the
place or wither & die. In either case, you wouldn't be
happy in town.
You're better off at home, for as long as possible.
Then you might be able to find a young, single mom, preferably
with an adorable baby, to live with you and help you with daily
chores, or something like that.
The state will pay for in-homecarefor elders in lots of cases.
It's far cheaper to keep elders in their own homes, if at all
possible.
The real growth industry in my town is the gals getting their
CNA degrees. (Certified Nurses' Assistant). They are doing in-homecareand they're working at the Assisted Living apartments in
town and at Long-TermCareat the hospital. Lots of my friends'
daughters are doing that or getting their RN degrees now. I'm
trying to talk one of them into going for her M.D. She'd be hot.
With love,
the Jan way up north

Yes Binky - I agree with your perspective. Resisting so many people who
think I should move into subsidized housing in the village (I am disabled
and 68). If you haven't experienced the peace and wonder of rural living -
hard to explain to those who don't understand.

Though we are not as rural as we use to be we still get to enjoy many of
its benefits.
Tonight is just a little cool a soft breeze every once in a while with a
bright moon, not yet full and stars in a very clear sky.
I sat out there for a little while enjoying the call of whippoorwills
and watching the field and tree line.
I walked a little ways out the drive. From somewhere in the field I
heard a blow or snort, then another and another. It took a minute for me
to realize what it was. It's been a while.
I couldn't see them but evidently the deer could see me. They must have
just seen me when I stopped behind the Pickup. They were trying to get
me to move so they could tell if I was something other than a post or
whatever, I guess. I strained to see them but as bright as the night is
I couldn't.
Sat back on the front porch and listened to the whippoorwills a little
longer. It does wonders to wash away the worries of the day. I just hope
that dad blamed skunk doesn't come back through the yard again tonight.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that if you need to find clothes to
help your loved ones get dressed - Silverts.com is there for you -
they sell senior or elderly adaptive clothing and hospital gowns.
They're really good and almost the only company that sells in the
whole of North America and overseas.
