Don't tolerate anyone hunting your land without your permission.

You own the land. You pay taxes on the land. You are liable for
what happens on the land. That means you get to decide who hunts
on your land and who doesn't.

Take that tree stand home. See who shows up to claim it and
explain to the SOB that it was on *your* land and he didn't
have permission to hunt your land, so the tree stand belongs
to you now. Phuck him and everyone who looks like him.

My SO and I were walking through our woods quietly one day,
looking for a sick cow that we knew was hiding out away from
the herd. We discovered a stranger and his son, with shovels,
in our woods.

The dad said, "You sneaked up on us!!"

We said, "You're on our land, what are you doing?"

The dad said, "We're just digging up some trees to take home."

We said, "Ah, you're teaching your son to steal."

The dad got very mad and told us that no one should own as much
land as we do. (!)

We told the dad to get off the ranch and to quit teaching his
child that it was okay to steal.

Since then, the child has grown, and he's been given permission
to trap our land, as long as he doesn't bring his father on our land.

The boy, Ioseph (Russian for Joseph) has respected our wishes. Ioseph
traps coyotes on our ranch. They kill our beef calves, so the kid
does us a favor with his trapping. We're too busy to run trapline.
Ioseph grew up to be a pretty good trapper and a damned nice kid : )
