My Wheel Horse tractor uses a Kohler K301 12hp engine. The engine
falters and stalls out when under load. Without much warning it starts
to sputter and slows down. That continues even if the load is removed,
coughing and running very rough till it dies or the ignition is killed.
It starts right back up in the normal fashion and continues to run
fine till more high grass is encountered. Heat does not seem to be an
issue as it does the same thing when throwing heavy snow. It has ACR.
Has anybody encountered similar problem?
Thanks
Sounds like a fuel problem to me, tank clean? filter clean? carb clean? air
filter clean and oiled (if) Does the governor work well when it isn't
stalling ? Does it do it every time under load or just after a while? Does
the timing vary when under load? by a vacuum line? and is there vacuum?
tube/line not leaking?
Assuming you replaced/cleaned sparkplug and set the right timing.
