The UK's first case of H5NI avian flu was confirmed in eastScotland
today, in a wild native mute swan (not a migratory species). Inother
words, the swan must have been infected by another, migratory bird,
which means other wild birds here are likely to be infected too (10
undergoing tests).
Commisserations. I note also on t he news last night that it's now in
at least one poultry flock in Germany.
