them?
Some people keep them here, but only those who don't mind the racket.
They tend to be a bit fey and make a very hysterical gabbling noise
if something (usually, nothing at all) alarms them.
Farm1:
The instant I read what you wrote, the sound came back to me as did that
very orignal look they have. I'd forgotten all about that sound and that
wee, odd expression :-))
Ronny:
I love the way you talk :-) and yes, wee, odd expression is saying it
right! LoL And the way they can look at something new or unexpected! I
watch mine and they come upon something unexpected and jump right up in
the air. Maybe just two inches or even two foot! But always straight up
in the air!LoL
Now that I can hear mine again,I need to recheck on the noise they can
make? It's either the male or female that can make both the buckwheat
and the buck, buck, buck sounds. One or the other can only make one of
those. And in large measure that's the only for sure way to know if a
particular guinea is a male or female! They just look so much alike
otherwise!
Well, better go check on my truck and be sure it's going to start up OK?
Then check on the guineas. Meant to do a bit of shopping today;but the
gal who stays with Mom a bit hasn't gotten here yet.
One other thing. Another reason I hate predators around here is they
make my keeping guineas more expensive. If I can leave them out to
forage, then they eat very little grain that I put out for them. And
that's always nice! LoL
buck,
