Isn't one of the primary reasons for NAIS overseas marketing? Japan
cut off US imports after the first BSE scare as I remember. They just
recently allowed the importation of beef from cattle under 21 months at
slaughter.
I don't see that this will help the safety of the US consumer. The US
imports more beef than it exports if memory serves.
