What is it that they are trying to accomplish with this?
Chipping rabbits and pigeons looks a little odd.
Cattle I can see, as they are worth steeling and putting a serial
number on them makes them harder to steel.
But only if everyone has a serial number on them.
Otherwise the thief just grinds off the number from the stolen cow and
claims that it is his and never had a number in the first place.
Then there is the mad cow business, where an infected cow would need to
be back tracked to its ranch.
Can pigeons get avion flue?
As to rabbits, I haven't a clue.
