OK. I've also noticed the starter turns very slowly, even with a new battery.
We are exploring that now.

Yes. It has lots of blowby. It may be a 5050 vs 5150, about 50 tractor HP,
with a 3 cylinder Fiat engine.

We figured that part out :-) But I just noticed the replacement glow plug
has a 1/4" pipe coming out the top, so I suspect it also includes a fuel
injector that lets the fuel flow through the center of the wire coil. So
I guess we can't do what we planned. Plan B is to leave the original plug
in place with the burned-out coil and screw the new plug into the side of
the head or cylinder wall, parallel to the piston face. I'm concerned this
may weaken the wall.
>We have a block heater on my dad's AC 175. We never use the glow plugs.
We normally use a 460 watt block heater and trickle charger and starting fluid,
and we still have to jump the battery when it is cold. It would be nice to
simplify this process and avoid the expense of running the block heater.
Thanks for your thoughts.
