Sorry. I didn't make it clear. At the time I decided on the oil heat
I was paying about $1.25 per gallon for each of the fuels. A gallon of
propane purchased at $1.25 bought me 91,000 BTU's of heating value. A
gallon of furnace oil costing $1.25 bought me 140,000 BTU's of heating
value. I thought I was getting a better return on my fuel purchase
going with oil.
