Bear in mind that modern gas stoves have pilotless ovens requiring
electricity to make them work. I think that for a few hours a
12v car battery and an inverter of several hundred watts should
be enough to get the oven working.
As I live in a snow belt I take all the batteries out of equipment
I won't be using over the winter to the basement and charge them
before storage so having that sort of backup power isn't a problem
here. I managed to catch a 700 watt inverter on sale a while back.
