I've become a Grandparent so I guess I'm now a certified Old Fart. I got
the all important call last Sunday as I was trying to read this ng and
wondering who kept breking my connection to my ISP! I've been flat out
like a lizard drinking ever since. Becoing a parent was not so hectic.
Anyway thought there may be some here who may be interested in the
arrival of an 8lb 1oz boy.

Ronny:
Congratulations Grandpa! :-) LoL

Farm1:
Ronny! Welcome back! Nice to see you again. Where have you been? Last
time we saw you here you were really sick with bronchitis and when you
didn't reappear I wondered what had happened to you.
Thanks for the congrats, but enough of that Grandpa business. I haven't
had a sex change.

RonnyOct/30:
Sorry about that. :-) When I saw the (old fart) part I immediately
though guy without thinking! LoL

Can't believe I haven't been on here in so long! About 14 months ago
now! Had forgotten about that bronchitis of August '04! Must of gotten
over it 'cause I'm still kickin'! LoL Remember getting sick a time or
two last winter;but just a sort of cold as best I remember.

Still taking care of my now 85yo Mom who has Alzheimers. Still have a
few guineas, some quail,4 cats and 1 chicken! :-)

You won't believe what I have now! :-) But before I say,I strongly
stress that I'm much better now than I was just 7 to 14 days ago! :-) By
no means all the way through this;but on the way!

It can be confusing;but this late summer I got what I thought was a bad
heat rash and then that mostly healed up and then it came back. Then
broke out all over from neck to foot with small red bumps, etc. and
intense itching at times. Someone suggested to me I might of gotten in
poison ivy. Another suggestion that I might have jotch itch. Went to 1st
doctor this month and got antibiotics and stuff for itching. That all
helped;but I wasn't completely over the breaking out and raw oozy skin
in places when the antibiotics ran out. But I was much better. Waited a
few days, started getting some worse again and went back to my doctor. He
gave me another shot for itching, said he wasn't sure what was causing
all of this and he sent me to a dermatoligist on the 25th of this month.
That guy looked me over, gave me something for itching and put me on the
anti-fungal med Ketoconazole. Have been taking those for 6 days now and
started seeing improvements after 2 days. :-) Still some pretty intense
itching at times;but mostly limited to about 20 or so minutes a day for
the really bad stuff and lesser itching for an hour or two each day. So
this isn't over;but is greatly improved! I can mostly sleep at night
now. In the 48 hours before I went to the 1st doctor I only slept about
30 minutes! And that with me taking some OTC stuff on the last to try
and get some sleep! Let's just say it was very bad then!

For some reason my 2nd doc wouldn't say the other day what he thought
was causing my problems? That sort of floored me since I had already
done some searching online and found out somethings. Found out more
after I went to him. Seems I got a candida yeast infection that went
fungal and spread over my body. Not pleasant to say the least!LoL But
hasten to add again that I'm much better than I was and I'm so glad this
doc put me on an anti-fungal med! Also glad the first doc gave me an
antibiotic. That helped me too,so I must of also had some sort of
bacterial infection.

So now I'm taking the anti-fungal,using a cortisone type cream and doing
a 20 minute a day bath soak in something else the doc prescibed for
helping to keep my skin moist. And after the soak,I kid you not,doc told
me to lather up from neck to feet with Crisco vegetable shortening! :-)
Feels like I'm getting ready to be grilled on a spit; LoL but that stuff
does help! :-) Still have 5 more days of doing the daily bath soaks.

But right before this part some guys came in to take out our bathtub so
that they could put Mom in a walk in shower. She needed that given her
age and all. So I thought I was going to have to go to a sisters house
to do my daily bath soaks!:-( Could take up to 2 hours a day with the
driving and all! But Sis had a better idea what with her being a farm
gal! :-) She simply went to a local farm store and bought me a new
plastic watering trough for cattle and that's been working out just fine
for me a tub to do my soaks in! LoL

Well, more than enough of my recent and present health problems! :-) Like
I said;I am much better now and still improving,so I'm very grateful for
that! Have still been feeling a little sorry for myself off an on the
last few days though. Thought I would be over all of this sooner;but
also bothered that there is so much I wanted to do this fall and I just
can't do right now. So doing somethings;but having to take it easy too.
And grateful that I can do that much! :-) And just leaving the rest
undone for right now.

Got a lot of ideas, old and new lately,as I've been online. Looking up a
good bit of info on this and that at Google. Sooner or later I mean to
bend some ears in here and in some other discuss groups for advice on
this and that idea or question of mine. :-) So I've been busy the last 3
or so days thinking up things I can do;both now and somethings later on.
Got a number of things I would like to try out this fall and through
winter.

And earlier this year a niece of mine gave me her older computer that
she had had online. So sooner or later I need to get that online along
with my MSNTV unit. Can get both of those online for the same price I'm
paying a month now just for my WebTV unit! So that's nice! :-)

2:45am here so I better go soon. Took an OTC chordate pill 2 or so hours
ago, have also been putting on that cortizone cream and it seems my
itching has slowed down a lot and will probably stop completely soon!
:-) And then it's back off to sleep again for me!

See you later and again, congratulations on your new grandbaby Grandma!
:-)
