State of Connecticut, My numbskull neighbors have been having a blast fireing pistols, shotguns at targets about 40 feet from the border of my property which is about two hundred and fifty feet from my house. I called the connecticut state police and they said as long as they have seven acres and are shooting in a safe manner they can legally do it. So I guess until one of my children get shot it will be ok.
Have you or your kids or your pets been making excessive noise, partiularly at night? ATV's and barking dogs grate my nerves much worse then my neighbors target shooting, but such things are part of rural life. You show a strong predjudice against firarms with your words "numbskull" and "blast firing" (whatever that is).
Many people in my neighorhood (including myself) enjoy target shooting on our own property. I have an area at the furthest end of my 60 acres from my neighbors that I use. Yes, they can still hear the shots. Most of us shoot at times when it will bother the neighbors least.
For lots of Americans keeping in practice with firearms is more than just fun. It's considered a duty. If you think there's a safer place on their property to shoot you might ask them to use it. Asking them to quit will only get you animosity. Face it, you and your kids are safer having neighbors who are friendly and shoot firearms than having unfriendly neighbors who don't.
