Follow up..the imported parrot I mentioned earlier has been confirmed
as having H5N1 strain of avian flu. It had come to Britain from South
America, where H5N1 is unknown atm, but was housed in UK quarantine
with a consignment of other pet birds recently imported from Taiwan in
the far East. Some the Taiwan-imported birds have also died.
