huh. i haven't installed or updated an anti-virus program ever
(ok, i tried to install McAffee 2004, but it screwed up my
computer so bad i reformatted) & my internet works just
fine...
i do, however, have a Linux firewall & i don't use M$
products. i use MailWasher to check mail before download,
Pegasus to read mail, & Xnews for newsgroups, none of which
are prone to exploitation by viruses (& MailWasher will label
any incoming mail containing viruses so i can delete it
without it ever downloading onto my computer).
i did a lot more in computer tech support than telling people
to put on an anti-virus (although i did do a lot of asking if
they'd tried rebooting... even XP needs rebooting at least
once/week)
lee <now if i have 'internet problems' it usually means my
stupid LinkSys needs rebooting>
