True, though the Italian made ones offered by Harbor Freight and
Northern Tool aren't bad in price. A much worse problem, however, is
that both the voltage and frequency are entirely dependent on the
quality of governor on the tractor. This can range from fair on a
diesel to nonexistent on small gas tractors.

This fine for keeping the fans going in the chicken house, the pumps
going on a hog farm or maybe even the equipment in a milking house but
it sucks for residential loads. Just buy a nice standby generator
designed for the application and burning the fuel of your choice and
more or less forget about it.
