If you want to be taken seriously, it will help to begin with something that suggests you can differentiate between your ass and your elbow. That quote is not from the founding fathers but from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address which, as you probably know, was delivered a bit later on after all of the founding fathers were quite dead.
