is willing to do his job.

If the guy is unwilling to perform his job for any reason, he
should resign, or be fired, and replaced by a person who is
willing/able to do the job.

The job of the JOP is to perform the ceremony, not to decide
whether or not a marriage licence should have been granted.

This is not the same as asking a priest to perform same-sex
weddings. This is a racist jerk using his "views", as an
excuse to refuse to do his job.

Dave, the JP feels the children of a mixed marriage suffer the most should the marriage dissolve. Right or wrong, that's his belief. Why do you say he is " a racist jerk using his views as an excuse ... ." Why invent something that is like mob induced hysteria? What's the next line, "Get a rope?"
