Yep that's the word. I think they were so glad to see Bush
go, they voted for Obama as a in your face
Bush jester. Hell they voted for him 10 days after he took office,
going by the news.

I think there is little doubt that it was a slap at President Bush to
one extent or another. Same deal for the Carter and Gore awards
AFASIAC.

That is a paranoid fantasy. Actually, I kind of like it too. SMACK,
ex-president Bush! I really like it!

I see it another way, and that is an encouragement to go toward
rational thinking, instead of toward dufus thinking like we saw in the
previous regime.

IMO, the amount of time from nomination to actual selection is pretty
much a moot point in terms of evaluating accomplishments coming after
the submission of the nomination. They obviously selected this year's
award winner based on potential and not accomplishment. That is per
the committee's own account of the logic used to award the prize.

LOL, you will always want to minimize the value. Go for it.

It is possible they voted as soon as application deadline had passed
but I doubt that. I'm guessing they at least went through the drill
of doing their typical analysis. If so, it took some time to get to
the final list of candidates and then select one of those from that
"short" list.

BTW, I've seen no news report that they voted that quickly. In fact,
I've seen no report of when they did their final selection.

Obama deserved the Noble prize because the Nobel committee says he
does. That's all there is to it. Anything else is other people's
opinion, and "other people," are not the Nobel committee.
