So, 86 troops dead would be a better figure for you?

No, but it is interesting you could read what I wrote and then ask
such a question.  I don't see how it relates to my post.  Perhaps you
could explain why you would ask.

If the logic behind asking the question is what I suspect I'll be more
than happy to point you to a couple of my posts which you may not have
read.  I the logic is other than what I suspect I will be very
surprised but more than happy to respond.

"the status quo is going to
continue to kill our troops for no particular good reason."

This sounds like I'm in favor of more troops being killed? I still
don't understand.

More troops means more troops will be killed for no apparent reason!
Did you see the Video of all those Afghan Police coming to surrender
to the Taliban? About 70 surrender to 7 Taliban members - reminds me
of Vietnam! We were on an ambush with South Vietnamese regional
forces> The regional forces set up 3 large hammocks and they all laid
in them and played loud music all day - not a good way to conduct an
ambush! These Afghan military and police don't want to fight - just
like S. Vietnam - all for no reason then. You put more troops in and
more will be killed - all for no good reason!

Maybe you've misunderstood what I want in Afghanistan. Here are my
posts over the past few months on what I feel makes sense. I think
they clearly show the thought process I've been through as well as my
leanings at the middle of this year. You may want to read the end of
the very last post. (Posts are separated by lines of "=".)

Why do you bother, cg?

You either agree with P-Bo's inaction or you want people to die.

You agree with gummit taking over healthcare or "The Republicans
want you to die quickly if you get sick." - Alan Grayson (D) Fla (what
the heck were you people thinking, Judy???)

You either agree with everything gummit and everything P-Bo or you're
a racist.

You willingly pay more and more and more in taxes or you want to be a
mountain man , killing people in the street, stomping on the sick and
dying, and robbing little old ladies.

Why even bother?
