Did President Obama behave stupidly?  I have no doubt that he spoke

he did behave stupidly.  I believe his activist roots got the better
of him this time.
Oh good grief.
a. police respond to a call
b. police discover it's a false alarm
c. man shows his i.d., then gets handcuffed
According to the police report, it didn't happen in that manner. Gates
acted stupidly and if he would have kept his mouth shut instead of
yelling at the officer and making rash accusations, he wouldn't have
been arrested.

Apparently the Gates home was burglarized in the not too distant past.

d. Obama is asked for an opinion.
e. Obama discloses he doesn't know all the facts,
but on the surface, this appears wrong.
That's not stupid.
Both Obama and Gates are the stupid ones.

Activist roots?
What has been disclosed so far seems to indicate it was activist roots
surfacing.

Oh good grief.
At least you got that right.

Ok, upon the disclosure of more details it seems
pretty obvious that Gates' obsession with all things
race related, coupled with his sense of self importance,
led him to "snap". It wasn't his first time nor will it
be his last. I see this oversensitivity and unnecessary
defensiveness to be more than 50% of the race
problem in America.

As for Obama, his statement was just an honest
remark of a fellow talking about a friend, and really
based on first impressions, it was a logical assessment.

Here we disagree. I don't think it was an honest remark. I think it
was the Chicago Obama quickly surfacing. The Obama we don't know, or
haven't really seen, may well be a racist. Who knows; time will tell.

Obama didn't bother to get all the facts of the incident before making
his comment. I think he followed his emotions developed from past
observations and chose to side with his friend. Both Gates and Obama
owe the Cambridge Police department an apology. Neither will
apologize, but the Cambridge Police is certainly due one.- Hide quoted text -

By the time you read this I supposed you've
already found out that Obama has called the
officer and gates both, and invited them to the
Whitehouse, as well as having gone on camera
to admit that he used a poor choice of words.

Sometimes we misspeak when our friends
are involved. Now he's making it right.
