You assume too much per usual.
I didn't assume anything Dan. I based my assessment of your understanding
(in this case - lack thereof) on the statements you made in your post.
Those statements indicated your ignorance of how an OS works on a
computer.
I never discussed my knowledge of OS, nor did I indicate I ignored
industry concerns over cloud computing.
Actually, you did. You indicated that Google apps and browser were useful
tools to you. Unless you have no concerns whatsoever about any of your
personal information residing on servers connected to the internet, then
you must be ignoring the legimate concerns that have been raised about
this type of set up.
Your product choice, is just that, your choice, but why shoot the"Legitimate concerns"?
messengers when they bring up legitimate concerns? If Google has
addressed these concerns to your satisfaction, great.

What legitimate concerns were posted in this thread, the same old usenet
mantra on "privacy" from the idiots who probably never read a Google
TOS?
If it works for you Dan, that's just great. Personally, I'm not
interested in making it any easier for those so inclined to infect or
steal data that is important to me.
This is not idiocy Dan. The bigger the target, the more likely it is to
be attacked. How many times has Bank of America been hacked in the last
few years? What about Hannaford? Once Google Apps and it's OS become more
popular, they will be hacked.
What about Google caving in to the demands of the Chinese? Can't happen
here in the US? ...right. Their TOS will be irrelevant.
Just as different folks drive different cars Dan, for different reasons
or needs, I prefer to have a better handle on who has access to my data
and activities. If you're comfortable with Google's offerings, more power
to you. I am not and I firmly believe that Google will do what is best
for their bottom line regardless of the costs to the end user.
