Waxman-Markey Climate Bill

"The legislation will create millions of new clean energy jobs, save
consumers hundreds of billions of dollars in energy costs, promote
America's energy independence and security, and cut global warming
pollution," said Chairman Waxman. "In support of these goals, this
legislation ensures that consumers and industries in all regions of
the country are protected. I look forward to working with all members
of the Committee to approve this legislation to make America the world
leader in new clean energy and energy efficiency technologies."

Henry Waxman (Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce) is the
chief sponsor of the bill.

So, given the two wildly differing views of the effects of this bill,
one would assume that Waxman may be able to clear up a few questions
when asked.

Unfortunately, he can't...

"I certainly don't claim to know everything that's in this bill. I
know that we left it to -- uh, uh, we, we relied very heavily on the
scientists, on the IPCC and others and the consensus that they have
that there is a problem of, uh, uh, global warming. It's having an
impact, and that, uh, we need to try to reduce it by the amounts that
they think we need to achieve in order to avoid, uh, some of the
consequences. That's what I know, but I don't know the details."

And, to cap (no pun intended) it all off, in this wonderful era of
Transparency, the democrats hired a speed reader to read the bill,
further insulting themselves and thinking individuals, not to mention
their own myrmidons.


As reports surface about the current global cooling, the democrats are
rushing through a bill that will radically change our lives and
wallets under the guise of helping to stop global warming without even
being willing (or able, in Waxman's case) to honestly debate the bill.
