Judging from the opinions of local members who attend Narcotics
Anonymous (NA) meetings, legalizing marijuana so it can be
freely used would be a mistake, a huge mistake.

As in every recovery group, a reformed <$USER> is always more
convicted. There is merit in the POV, but it can often be
skewed.
Not that I disagree but does that make there opinion any less
credible? Haven't they "lived the life" and would be in a better
position to judge?
Well, what I've seen of people who have little self-control
Sorry, you lost me here. Your knowledge base of these diseases is
obviously limited which bothers me even more that you would have an
opinion one way or the other with limited facts.
Speaking of limited facts, we have zero evidence for the whole NA
story. I know three people who were into hard drugs, and every one
of them admits marijuana is essentially harmless and thinks it
should be legalized.

Your kidding me? All (3) three people?

Yep. As well as a majority of Americans, IIRC.

There's a quotation that goes something like this:

"The opinions of the multitude do not necessarily constitute what is right, but may merely show how many people are wrong."

No number given for the NA group.
