I'm advertising that I have a room for rent on craigslist. Right off the
bat I get 2 responses from persons who are not in ABQ. The first is Paul,
who claims to be english while knowing less of the language than Wally (I
suppose I'm gonna stop picking on Wally pretty soon, but I might as well
make the most of it now.)
Good day

This looks like a scam to me, but I don't get what the angle is for him.
Is he going to eventually tell me that in order to pay me $300 in rent, I
first need to send him fifty bucks to unlock funds from Nigeria?
My question is: how do I differentiate at this point without
discriminating? If I ask for references, I don't want to be calling the
U.K. or Nigeria or running a credit check if it's a waste of time and
money.
The other respondent was a 28-yr old female Romanian, but I think I get
what her angle would be.

To those of you who received honours, awards and distinctions, I say well
done. And to the C students, I say you, too, can be president of the United
States.
