Radio fox

Today I had to rent a car "Caravan', it was Gray. It was a bright cloudy day
with the temps in the thirty. With the sun and all it felt warmer than that
The old Dakotas fuel pump was bad to the tune of eight hundred dollars plus
a couple of other repairs which brought the bill to One thousand eighty six
dollars plus the forty four dollars for the rental.
The Caravan had one of those Satellite radios, one of those things that are
beamed from outer space with all those channels/stations on it. There was
even an Elvis channel. I never made it through all the channels this darn
thing could receive. How one who owns one of these things can figure which
channels they want and don't want before the car needs to be traded in for a
new Auto is beyond me. I suppose the next car these people would get would
also have one of those new fanged radios in it and the poor owner will have
to start all over again.
There probably those who want to find the channels with the Christmas music
on it and have to sort through all of that too. Hell I bet Wal Mart even has
a plate channel.
When I first got into the car, the channel was set to some kind of 80s
channel, and I noticed some dog hair in the Caravan, so some soccer mom
probably rented the dam thing before I did. Probably some dam liberal, the
hair seemed short enough to resemble the length of a poodle hair. I listened
to a few songs till one song indicated it was time to start channel surfing
hitting the "seek" button.
I was able to flip through probably a dozen more before getting home. I
don't like sitting around Car Dealership waiting rooms for what would be at
least six hours. So that's why I rented the Caravan. I made it home and
insulted Wally here in this group and in the Joker group and ate lunch and
did some chores and before long the dealer called to let me know that my
Dakota was ready.
So north bound on Old Crystal Bay Rd. to East bound Highway 12 which turns
into 394 I go, all the time hitting the scan button, oops I'm sorry, the
"seek" button. There was the 70s channel, 60s channel, 50s channel the
classic channel and a variety of ESPN channels, even a couple in Spanish. At
about this time I start to head south bound on #73 and then I started
hitting the Religious Channels.
I listened briefly to one channel that was giving a dissertation about Job,
being that a good part of you are Republicans I won't go into the complete
story about all of that. But I must say I was confused if all this stuff
happening to poor old Job were acts of God or were acts of the devil with
gods permission. All I know if anything ever happens to me and the insurance
company gives me this act of god stuff, I'll blame the Devil. They'll look
the darn fools in Court when they can't prove who/what is responsible.
The guy then started going into the possessions we own being only temporary
and we can't take them with them, so it's important that the good lord be
acknowledged and tithing's sent. I'll bet he was talking to those rich
Republicans. He even said something about us being only Seward's of this
planet and only here for a brief time, so we better take care of what we
have. I thought about the environment and all and I'm sure a few of those
rich Republicans had their fancy car washed by someone when getting home.
I was getting close to Hopkins, that where my Car was being worked on and
the rental place was. I was getting bored with Job so it came time to flip
through those darn Channels some more, now I was hitting into the news talk
channels, even found one that the label labeled Liberal, listened to that
for about fifteen seconds and didn't hear a dam thing, I guess that's summed
up what they had to say.
Before I move on, I should say that each time you find a new channel, there
is indication on the display panel on what the channel is/was. That's how I
knew to what I was listening too. I suggest you go to Best Buy or some sort
of store like that to see this display thing. whatever happened to tuning
dials rotating variable capacitors with that orange indicator going through
the numbers is beyond me. Used to be two knobs and five buttons, now you got
all kinds of buttons.
I was only about three blocks from County Rd. 3 and about fifteen blocks
from the car rental place. I had to get to the rental place first to drop
the Caravan off and pay for it and then they would give me a ride to the
Dealership. At about this time I hit the Fox Talk Radio channel.
Wouldn't you know there were two buffoons hosting this show and they were
actually calling to VI day "Victory in Iraq", same reference as VE day or VJ
day. To top the whole thing off they were praising the brilliant leadership
of Bush like he knew what he was doing all along.
Are these people nuts ? They seem to think that this whole war is against
Iran who is supporting AlQaida. While the news might be good lately, has it
ever occurred to them that this is a lull or time out to reconsolidate their
resources. This darn thing has been going on for centuries, so what a couple
of months of relative calm is suppose to indicate is beyond me and most
definitely beyond those two buffoons.
First of all you got at minimum there are four warring sides, the Iranian
backed Moslems, the Syrian backed Moslems, AlQaida and last but not least
the Kurds. Right now the Iranians have agreed to some sending in stuff to
make IEDs with, so the Iranian Muslims are curtailed for the moment, but who
knows what the Syrian Muslims are up to and AlQaida will help any side to
stir up the pot. Not one Iraqi border is secure. What the Kurds and Turkey
are up to, I'm not sure and you can be darn good and sure the two Fox
buffoons haven't a clue.
You also have the U.S. going into elections in less than a year, so lord
only knows what sits on the planning table for any and all sides in regards
to Iraq. This type of broadcasting only stirs the pot and gives credit to
the idea that we in the U.S. are a bunch of idiots.
