Yes, just as the misperception the Left has been fostering for years, namely,
if you disagree in the slightest with Liberal Dogma, you are a
mouthbreathing,
Bible thumping, Jesusland bigot who is puzzled by the complexity of
tic-tac-toe. That's crap, too.

I agree, even though you have written quite an accurate description of
George W. Bush there.

I disagree. I think you misunderestimate the man.

Misunderestimate? Are you trolling me Fred? ;)

Idiots don't get to be
President (although Carter is the exception that proves the rule).

Doublethink rears its ugly head again.

Let's face it, Fred. When your figurehead
projects that image it's hard not to take the opportunity to embarrass
his supporters with it. But I think the Left was under no illusions
when it came to the realization that Bush was backed up by a well-
oiled, ruthless political machine who were by no means a bunch of
dummies.

Yes, and Mr. Bush was the head of that machine. I think he plays the
good-old-boy part so that opponents misunderestimate him, then he takes their
heads off. He's not stupid. The man was a fighter pilot, and he built and
ran a potent political machine. He would have been removed by a rival had he
not been smart and ruthless.

He had his daddy's name, his daddy's money, and his daddy's
connections. He didn't build jack ***.

Anybody who thinks that Bush is really running things is
fooling themselves.

No, anyone who thinks he is a figurehead is fooling themselves.

He serves his corporate masters like a good little lackey. And he will
be richly rewarded for it when he leaves office.

Principled, intelligent people can hold views that range over a wide
spectrum.
Unlike deductive logic, inductive logic does not inevitably lead to identical
conclusions for rational people. It is quite possible to be intelligent,
well
informed, and reach conclusions that differ dramatically from other
intelligent, well informed rational thinkers.

And when one's conclusions turn out to be wrong in practice, over and
over again, *sane* people usually modify those conclusions.

Yes, precisely. So tell me, why are you on the leftish side? 8^)

Because I don't believe in corporatism, unbridled executive power,
preemptive wars of aggression, the raping of the environment, and the
erosion of my constitutional rights.

Look at the opinion polls people! They are the extremists, not us!

I no longer really trust polls. Lots of people in my camp are telling the
pollsters no thanks when they call.

What camp is that Fred? Conservatives, or people employed by the "Dark
Lord"? ;)

My camp has those who prize individual liberties over the State (the
traditional Liberal). I'm not that much a social conservative and I'm
certainly not a socialist.

My camp has those who prize individual liberties over the whims of a
tyrant (the traditional American). I'm certainly not a socialist
either, but I do believe that some social programs such as public
education, interstate highways, and even <*gasp*> Social Security are
worthwhile things to have. Why even have a government if it doesn't
provide for the common good?

I also find it amazing that you say you "prize individual liberties
over the State" and yet continue to speak in support of these
fascists. Have you read the Bill of Rights lately Fred? In particular
the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th amendments?

We could start a whole new thread on how this administration has done
its best to snatch those constitutional rights from you - and
succeeded!
