1993 attack, within a couple weeks of Clinton's inauguration. To me, one major difference is that Clinton was trying to do whatever he could about terrorism, Al Qaeda, and Bin Laden, and being thwarted by the republican congress at every turn, with the aid of folks like Sowell who ran interference for their obstruction.
Former President Clinton may be the purest example of a politician
every seen on the national front in the U.S. I doubt any will deny
that. That being the case;

Former President Clinton did everything he could to be re-elected.
There was no moral principle that ever, as far as I could tell, got in
the way of his slavish pursuit of the polls (voting and opinion).

This was his instinct - the "who" of who he was. It was such a strong
proclivity that it continued throughout his second term even though a
third term was not possible. It continues to this very day. His need
for acceptance trumps all.

While there has to be an exception to prove the rule I will have to
rely on others for that exception since I'm unaware of one.

On the other hand, he may just be an affable sort of fellow.

Dave ..... affable? Nah ...... you must mean laughable. <g>
