Do you guy's leave your system on 24/7 or turn them off at night.

I turn mine off.

Computer, off - I spent years working on mainframe computer systems and know full well the problems associated with a swap file that's never cleaned out. I do usually leave the monitor on; if we have storms come through, I power everything off at the surge protector, not because of lightning, but because of the surges on the line afterwards. (Had plenty of experience with that in the past year...)

Cable modem and router, on - As with any machine that uses DHCP for IP assignment, the cycle time as the modem hunts for an available address can be longer than I like (not 'too' long, just 'I am in a hurry' long). And, with any networked system, who is to say that while I am off doing other things, my husband might not be working on the computer. This may be a home network, but it works 24/7.

Print server and printer, on - See above. When we had an older laser printer (QMS), there were times when I wanted to turn the stupid thing off (it was a true juice-sucker), but now that we've gone with something smaller and much more energy efficient (Brother - it has its own energy cycling setup), I don't mind at all.

And for the record, TVs - the analog ones shut off more or less completely (yes, they are old). The HD ones do not - the first week we owned our big one, I constantly got fooled by the 'standby' light on the front and kept trying to turn it 'off', only to have it power up instead. If I want to turn it off completely, I have to use the surge protector switch (or unplug it).
