Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient

This award is another sign that one should be very cautious about
accepting his theories.
This morning, while using the computer, I read the following URL that says a group of international scientists will submit a climate control plan to the UN.

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/02/27/un.climate.plan.ap/

While having breakfast, I was listening to radio news and heard there was an increase of international environmental scientists that are opposed to the earth warming theory.

(Shrug) Is there or isn't there a global warming condition?

My best bet. Overall, yeah, there's probably a warming, BUT the next 30 years could easily see a cooling trend. <shrug> (Hell, there's been a warming trend since the end of the Little Ice Age, about 300 years, ago, so it's the best bet.)

Unless, we cruise right into another Little Ice Age.

Some of the Big Boys are questioning all this dependence on CO2 as the culprit, but never fear, methane-will-kill-us-all is just beginning to attract some attention.

Most of the central plains were re-introduced to Old Man Winter, this year. He's been noticeably absent the last few years, but he certainly made his presence known this year.

It's no secret; I think Al Gore is pretty much a flake. But, the man has always done his duty and done so in an honorable manner.

Would he have been acting in an honorable manner when he was a senator he push for tobacco subsidies, then when a VP he was against tobacco, having made a fortune in tobacco stock.

When the Congressional Black Caucus tried to block the final certification of George Bush, it was Senate President Al Gore that squashed it and finally pronounced it done.

And he did so with grace and class.

But he is not a climatologist. Not even close.

Yeah but, does Gore know that?

I'm just afraid he's going to end up like Jimmy Carter.

Going to? Gore is already a PITA.

I has been said that Jimmy Carter was one of the worse presidents we ever had, but the best ex-president. Except, he's fast becoming one of the worse ex-presidents we've ever had. He really needs to write a "Ronald Reagan Letter" and then go away.

In this morning's newspaper, there is almost a full page story titled "Polar Bears In Trouble." Apparently, global warming concerns seem to center upon the survival of the Polar bear. The Polar bear lives on ice floes and apparently there are fewer ice floes for Polar bears to use as habitats. Scientists (whoever they are) have seen ice floes melt four weeks earlier than they have observed in times past. The article says there are about 25,000 Polar bear in the North Atlantic region that are having a hard time hunting for food 'cause the ice floes are melting sooner than expected.

Now, toss a coin (so to speak) and hear what a NASA climatologist who has made a study of historic recorded climatic changes and is now being interviewed on the radio has to say about global warming. In a nut shell, he's saying there is no positive evidence to support the theory that global warming exists.

Aside:

In 1974, Time Magazine published a series of articles quoting scientists who have been saying the earth was cooling and it was predicted the earth was heading towards a new ice age.

Personal observation:

When I first came to California's southland, most summer days exceeded 100 F. degree temperatures. Beach communities regularly reported beach goers having their bare feet burned when walking on sand or pavement and car interiors became so hot that to touch the steering wheel or the dash board resulted in sever finger burns. It was not unusual to see kids frying eggs on car hoods. As the years went by, such things happening diminished and now are seen to be a rarity.
