Here we go.
I thought I was doing good when I found Norton AV 2007 for $39.95 with
an instant $20.00 rebate at Office Max.
When I went to install Norton, it told me to uninstall Zone Alarm Pro.
I didn't and forced the install of Norton. I unchecked a bunch of the
Norton options, including automatic update. (it still tries to phone
home).
Anyway, I had some odd problems and took out Norton and won't ever be
back.
Does anyone know of a good AV program that will work alongside Zone
Alarm Pro ?
Thanks
I am using a cable broadband connection. I have a list of things I
use that have served me well over the years. No one of them does
everything, but together, it seems to be a good suite.
For Firewall, I use Zonealarm. You know about that.
For AV, I use AVG <http://www.grisoft.com>
For spyware, worms and trojans, there is Adaware, and A squared.

I also have a subscription to Spysweeper that was a greebie with my
Worldnet subscription.
I occasionally use a web based scan like Trend Micro, for
validation. <http://housecall.trendmicro.com/>
In addition, if one is using broadband, I heartily advocate the use
of a router to limit the exposure to the Internet.
The tools are only a part of it though. Using good sense about
where you go, and what you do saves a lot of grief on the Internet.
