Government 101
The first responsibility of government is ....?

The U.S. is in a complex battle as one of many western nations facing a
creeping demographic change plus the constant threat of deadly
terrorism.

This is not exactly news you know. The world has been dealing with,
"creeping demographic change," since time began. I'll admit that in
times past it was probably slower, but change never stopped.
Resistance to it never stopped either.

Remember your biblical references to Noah. Consider the,"creeping
demographic change," when the Romans invaded... well just about
everywhere. Think about the, "creeping demographic change," when the
US defeated Japan, or Germany. Think about the, "creeping demographic
change," when we fought in Vietnam.

You just don't like it because it is not creep in the direction you
are comfortable with. You probably think there is something that
should be done about it too, and it is probably a somewhat fascist
approach to it.

Not to worry, it seems to be the nature of man to fight change with
some sort of control of it, and in the nature of politics, that
extension of control seems to slant towards abrogating rights.

Remember your history, and why we are here. Why did the Calvinists
flee Europe. I assure it was not because their hometown governments
embraced change. It was that old fear of, "creeping demographic
change," that made the hometown boys resists that, "creeping
demographic change," by persecuting those that would make the
changes<g>

How does any government protect its constituency against such
things?

You don't. Change is part of the nature of things. Only
conservatives think that you can stop change. That is not the whole
story though. Conservatives also want change, but they want changes
made to back up to before their own particular labeled, "creeping
demographic change," made things uncomfortable for them.

As far as the terrorism goes, as long as any country has more, is
more, or pretends to be more, than their lesser's, there will be
threats of violence. It is the uncivilized nature of greed to be that
way.

In either case, you can't stop determined fanatics from trying to
spread their zeal among the rest of the world and you cant stop,
"creeping demographic change!"

The existing government has somehow managed to do so for more than five
years, despite what we all recognize as a focused, deadly, well-armed,
and trained army of suicide murderers who have demonstrated a desire to
die if they can take Americans with them.

That is pure propaganda. I'll hold that they had a lucky shot, and
that nothing that has been done to date will stop another group of
determined fanatics.

The same hatred prevails
against many nations who are opposed to U.S. policies - we're not alone
Islamic fury has nothing to do with what we have done or said or allowed
or supported - it has everything to do with what we, as westerners, are.

It is odd you would say that, but it is precisely what the West did
in the middle ages with the crusades. You see, the crusaders really
didn't want that, "creeping demographic change," of the Ottoman empire
that threatened to impose, "creeping demographic change," on them.
How'd that work for us?

The interesting thing about all of this is that the truly religious,
and progressive, people preach tolerance, and understanding. Radicals
on all sides ignore their own religious truths in an attempt to resist
that, "creeping demographic change," in their respective areas.

In reality, I'd guess that the fanatical islamists are spreading
similar untruths about our side to curry favor among their own to
resist the dreaded, "creeping demographic change," that threatens
them. Imagine that.

Interestingly, it is the radicals who are trying to stop change in
their own places, same as here. But you knew that...
