Nope. In any closely contested election, and 2000, 2004 _were_ closely
contested, there are going to be pivotal states. These are usually
"purple"
states although they wouldn't have to be.

I agree. If the Democrats happen to win back the House, I think every
American should scream,whine, bitch and moan about every single election
that a Democrat wins, demand numerous recounts, demand that un-official vote
counters (like Rightist Newspapers) recount the votes several times, file
dozens of lawsuits demanding that the election be overturned, post tens of
thousands of posts on USENET, accusing anyone to the Left of John McCain of
being a not-so-closet socialist, a neo-fascist, or a frustrated Communist,
elevate Ann Coulter to Chomsky-level icon status, and just generally act
like, you know, Democrats.

If we're going to tear this Republic apart, I'd just as soon we get on down
the road, and get it done before I'm too old to give a ***. Besides, I'd
be kinda interested what develops on the other side.
