I recently purchased a DVD from England. In matters having to do with
stereos, DVDs, etc., I am somewhat challenged. I thought a DVD is a DVD is
a DVD.
Well, the darned thing won't play. The only thing that comes on screen is
"Region Code Error." Sure enough, I find "Region 2" printed on the back of
the case. However, I have no idea what that means.
Questions:
1. Does this indicate some sort of coding on the DVD?
2. Is there any way I can adjust my player?
3. How can I play this DVD?

Anyone for the cost of a DVD can use DVD shrink to copy the DVD and
make it region free if one has a DVD recorder on their computer. If
it's encrypted in anyway that prevents copying DVD Decrypter will do
it. Decrypter is hard to come by since it was removed under threat of
lawsuits.
