Hear a full-length version of the 'Nuestro Himno'.
Lyrics to 'Nuestro Himno' ('Our Hymn') included.
I listened to the Spanish version and while listening I wondered, will there be an Italian, Polish, Greek, Turkish, German, Japanese, Chinese, Mongolian, Peruvian, etc., etc., versions forthcoming. Equality demands accepting a version in one language means versions must be allowed and sung in different languages. Can you imagine an auditorium filled with people of different nationalities singing the national anthem in different languages? Must sound like static.
Only in America.
.
Asked about the Spanglish-zed version of the national anthem released this
week in solidarity with the illegal alien protests, President Bush said
today:
"I think the national anthem ought to be sung in English, and I think
people who want to be a citizen of this country ought to learn English and
they ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English."
He made his remarks on the matters during a wide-ranging briefing with
reporters.
"I think people who want to be citizens of this country ought to learn
English," Bush said.
Y'all better start assimilating into the new culture (suggest starting at the next baseball game you see),
