as a photographer myself, i am of course sensitive to unauthorized
use
of
intellectual property.  HOWEVER, i have designed a very fun spoof
of
Obama
and would like to use an image of him that is pasted all over the
internet,
just google obama for images and you'll see it, its of him
standing in front
of the capitol with arms folded.  i am assuming its some sort of
off
icial
congressional photo, and has no watermark or copyright info.

so can i use it with impunity since it is already so ubiquitous?
 th
e
little
stunt i am planning will just be a photo that i took with obama
photoshopped
into it, no other manipulation at all. i plan to email it to
everyone
i
know.  preliminary response to the proof is overwhelming, so i
imagi
ne it
will be forwarded all over the world, especially to our heroes
oversea

any advise is appreciated!

i will also be glad to add anyone to my email list that would like
to
get
it, i will be posting a link at a few groups but i respect the
premise
of
a
moderated group and will not post it here unless requested.

Maybe you can help me, too. I am an architect and I am writing an
article commenting on McCain's and Obama's houses and the
archtiectural styles of each. I found photos of McCain's house that
were printed in Architectural Digest and posted on the internet. If I
use those photos with my critiqe, is that "fair use?" I would like to
also use them on televsion, as graphics to illustrate my points. Can I
do that without seeking permission?

Thanks for the help.

I've found some of your detailed drawings for the houses you've
designed. I'd like to write an article about modern residences, and I
plan to go ahead and use copies of your drawings to illustrate my points.
Can I do that without seeking your permission?
