I'll be happy to provide a post for which any reasonable person would
think an apology is necessary, but it's absurd on the face of it that a
Christian would claim to find it offensive for me to mistake another

isn't whether you hide your feelings, so why bring that up? The point
is that the clarity of your interpretations arise not from the posts
themselves but from *you*

While it's difficult to
gage the feelings of another in the printed word, some clues can be
given.

I don't want to put too fine a point on this, but the slight incongruity
of that sentence is symptomatic: When you gauge the feelings of another
from his printed words, you *take* clues. You certainly don't give
them, and it's dangerous to impute the giving to the writer.

At the very least, he wants to be seen as such.

Either he is, or he wants to be seen as such. Do you see
another, realistic, option?

Sure, don't examine his motivations. How's that for an option?

If it's an act, he can't really complain that we're buying his

know that there is a big difference between OT and NT law. You
would also have understood that the application of biblical
commands is subject to human choice. Since we now do not own
slaves, obviously the OT commands about slavery no longer
apply. And while I've heard some Christians make pretzel-logic
excuses for certain things in the Old Testament, I've also
heard Christians explain that the OT laws were ine ffect done
away with on the cross where Jesus Christ was crucified. And
the new law, as explained by Jesus, was all about love, not
hate. Did you by any chance misunderstand the parable of the
Good Samaritan?

How about the parable of the church's 1965 year war against Jews
for the killing of your god?

apology, but I don't think she thought it was sincere and I think she's
quietly harboring a deep resentment. You may have more to fear from her
than you have from Jonez.
