No; I'm not scrapping with my neighbor. But I do have a problem with
a neighbor that is "scrapping". For those (thankfully) out of the
loop, scrapping is collecting junk and then selling the metals. For
example, scrap wire is usually thrown in a 55 gallon drum to burn off
the insulation and then the metal core of the wire is sold. The
burning insulation releases compounds that would gag a maggot.
Anyhow...... this particular neighbor of mine is busily burning the
insulation off of quite a few feet of wire. I live about 50 feet
from his burning barrel and I am getting the full aroma of this
enterprise. Also, last week my neighbor let the fire get away from
him and could have easily burnt my house down. I was in the woods
behind my house with a 5 gallon can of water putting out the fire.
Is there any way I can shut this raging peckerhead down?
Call the EPA - they will be very interested in illegal burning...
