I have a friend whose dad recently passed away.
he was broke and has no assets. His wife also doesnt work and has no
assets atall.
my friend is asking what to do with the credit card balances.
Is there any way ,the CC companies can track the son/wife and force
them to pay.
this is in NY state.
to be on the safe side., I have advised him to send the CC companies
the copy of the death certificate .
Generally, heirs are not liable for the debts of a deceased.
But the deceased's estate is.
