Absolutely . . . Maybe. This is actionable (you can sue), however several considerations come into effect. Check the signage in the parking
lot. Were there signs that warned against leaving valuables in the car? Were you warned at check-in that valuables should be stored in your
room or the motel safe? If so, you may have a problem. If there were no warnings, you should have a "case". Also, was the camera in plain
view, hidden, or in the trunk? All these things would have to be considered. However, your automobile insurance should pay under the
comprehensive clause (less any deductible).
