Ron,
As you note the warranty does discuss abuse to the product. It's possible
that you did abuse the product while removing the chip. But, as you point
out, they have not examined the broken chip so it's difficult to ascertain
how they decided that the warranty was void in your case. I don't understand
the "burn" stuff at all but I'm assuming this is RAM and not burned as ROM
would be.
If this warranty mess does piss you off you can find the State A G's
web-site which may have a consumer fraud section. That won't cost you any
money and may work.
