He had no choice. The only way they would stop it is upon presentation
of a death certificate. And that didn't become available until the
Autopsy Report was issued. Which was in May.
How very odd. In Message-ID:
<br7Gf.1156$id5.825@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> you wrote, "I
don't know that he was obliged to do so. But he continued to pay child support for another 5 or 6 months after her death."
The implication is clear. We were to think he did so
voluntarily.
So what would you call this, if not an outright lie? Prevarication, perhaps? :)
It was a lie, plain and simple.
Here's Merriam-Webster's definition for the verb lie (note the
second definition given):
Main Entry: lie
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): lied; ly·ing /'lI-i[ng]/
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English lEogan; akin to Old High
German liogan to lie, Old Church Slavonic lugati
intransitive senses
1 : to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive
2 : to create a false or misleading impression
Ted definitely wanted us to think Cameron was paying child
support for four to five months after Lauren's death not because he
had no choice, but because of his good nature.
I know. But he likes the "mendacious prevaricator" line so much! If he persists in using it in the future, I'll have something handy to beat him over the head with. That's the only reason I keep the Ted-file. :)

Ted, it sounds as if your statement was intentionally ambiguous, even though you KNEW for a fact that Cam *HAD* to pay child support until he could present a certificate of death.
And perhaps you being a little mendacious?
Perhaps the Pope is a little Catholic as well.______________________________________________________________________
