Is this Contract Still Valid?

You agree to another person to sell something for $100. The other
person says I accept but then says you will not be actually selling to
me but to my friend. My friend will pay you. Does that make the
contract invalid? If you do not agree (do you have the right?) can the
person say then sell it to me?
