Hello,

I need some advice on how I should handle the following situation.

My daughter (age 7) has made some remarks about a woman, she says she
loves her, she wants to kiss her and she wishes she was a boy so she
could marry her.

I appreciate this may be just her age, but I don't want her making
these remarks to other people especially children, in fear of her
getting bullied or excluded in some way. I also don't want her to stop
confiding in me with things, so don't want to chastise her over this.

Please don't let this turn into a pro/anti-gay thread as this is not
the issue for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can I approach this sensitivley?

Thanks
#1's year (age 7yo) had a spate of "marriages", where one would officiate
and 2 (and sometimes more) would do a mock wedding. This was mostly between
best friends, although I think there were some boy/girl ones done too.
#1's only just stopped wanting to marry daddy (she got upset when I said
that he was already taken, so we left it as if she still wants to marry him
when she's 16 then we'll discuss it further then.) she now wants to marry
her baby brother. It's her way of saying that she wants to stay with them
for always.
It seems to be normal amoung that age that they express their "adoration"
for someone by saying that they'll marry them. Personally I wouldn't say
anything for or against her remarks.
Debbie
