braces, yay

This is definately very new to me. My 11 year old has very bad problems and will be getting an "appliance" to widen her roof and have some teeth extracted and then braces. It is worse than I had expected, as there are two teeth still up in her gum in the front of her mouth and no space for them to come down into, and what's down already is all jumbled up! I didn't know about the two teeth until the ortho consult today. And then, my husband's place of employment changed dental/vision insurance and the new dental doesn't cover orthodontics!

And last night my "baby" lost her first tooth :) She worked on that thing for 3 days.
