Preschool pop culture?

We'll be spending Christmas break with SIL and her three children, and in
talking to her, her girls are a lot more into the popular culture/characters
stuff than my DD (who doesn't seem to like most TV even when we're stuck in
a hotel room and who is more interested in the building toys and the train
table at the toy store than the pink section)-especially Disney Princesses.
We have some of the Disney movies and the like in our video collection, but
except for Pete's Dragon (anything with a dragon is of interest), she hasn't
shown much interest in them. She knows many of the classic storylines, but
from books. And I suspect many of the movies are too intense for her right
now anyway, so I haven't encouraged it. She does sometimes play princess and
dress up games (I made faerie wings for a triceratops yesterday, and I'm
pretty sure there was a brachiosaurus wearing a tutu and a tiara), so it's
not a complete lack of interest in the topic, just that she's never been a
couch potato unless she's sick (we can go days in this house and never turn
on a television-DH and I aren't TV watchers either).


Especially since we're going to Disney World, I'm wondering if checking out
a few of the short Disney videos from the library (I know they have some of
the sing-along and Princess stories ones) would be unreasonable, just so she
has some familiarity with the characters, both at the park and in play with
the other children? And, if so, does anyone have any recommendations which
would be good for a just turned 3 yr old?
