It's Ritalin. And that is no longer the drug of choice for most ADHD
children.
Aside from that, medication is not the only treatment.
It is true that three is too young for an ADHD or ADD diagnosis in
most cases, however, doctors did not believe that autism could be
diagnosed before 5 or 6 some years ago. More children are now being
diagnosed by 3 and the American Pediatric Association just came out
with new guidelines that suggest that pediatricians screen children
for autism at the 18 month and 24 month well baby checks. My grandson
was diagnosed at 18 months and there is evidence that children can be
diagnosed as young as 12 months now.
