Two questions:
I was surprised at how hard it was to pull the back off. I always
imagined it as being just sliding easily off, but I found I had to use
some force to get it off. She was fine... I was scared I was going to
bring the ear off with it!! Do you usually have to use force to take the
back off or is this a problem? (I don't want to try her other ear as it's
completely fine). If so, are there easier to remove types of ear rings as
I was hoping that she'd be able to do it herself-she can't use the
fishhook ones I'm told?
Normally it shouldn't be that kind of problem. If her ear's discharging,
I suspect that she might have had a bit of dried-up gunk sticking it
together. Try the other side & see how you get on with that.
Other question is that I assume it's not fully healed yet as it's like
this. According to the info I was given it should be pretty much better
by 6-8 weeks. Is it usual for them to still be like this at 5 weeks? Will
taking it out for school (6 hours) cause any problems with the healing
process. She has to have it out on games days and she starts back next
Thursday?
Sounds infected to me. I would try the TCP for a few days & if it's not
improving take her to see the GP for some antibiotics. As for school, I
doubt the hole will grow together in six hours, but the ring might be
uncomfortable going back in.
That's about what I figured, but it's good to hear it from you!
Debbie
