kinda weird... I got called a "breeder" in public

Has this ever happened to anyone? I was walking from the bathroom to an
outdoor table at a restaurant where we were eating lunch. We weren't in
anyone's way. As we were walking by I heard someone say Oh Look, isn't that
cute, a breeder. My head swung around in shock. I was not certain I had
heard what I had heard. Not because I had heard it, but because I have never
.... baited ... with that before. She was abashed and sheepishly smiling at
the same time.

Weird. Has this happened to anyone else? It did not ruffle my feathers, I
was just surprised.
